In this course we take a deep dive into the relationships between sounds of different pitch. 

We first study musical notes, the staff, the clefs and the acoustic index. All of the basic tools for making music. 

Then we understand intervals, how to measure the distance between two different sounds. 

When we understand intervals, we are ready to study scales, in this course we study the most important of all, the major scale, and you will be able to make every major scale there are. 

And finally, not only do we use sounds in sequence, but also simultaneously, that's why we have to study chords, in this course you will learn the four basic chords there are: Major, Minor, Diminished and Augmented. 

You will be able to recognize different pitches and distinguish between different octaves.
The pitch
We first need to understand the basic quality of sound called the pitch, in this video we analyze how the pitch affects the sound.
The seven musical notes
In this lecture you'll learn the 7 main notes of music, making your way to understand the music system in which western music is based.
Acoustic index and octaves
At the end of this lecture, you'll be able to perceive the differences between octaves, and play the notes in their correct range.
Aural Exercises. Recognizing octaves and notes
At the end fo this lecture, You'll have the most basic skills for recognizing one note in three different octaves, and recognize three of the 7 main notes.

At the end of this section you will be able to transcribe and read the fundamentals of sound you've learned so far in the traditional music system of sheet music.

In this lecture we will study the staff, the place where all the music is written.
Clefs and Ledger Lines
Clefs and ledger lines will be very useful whenreading and writingmusic, because pitches vary a lot, and sometimes is hard to organize them in the staff.
The "setting" and the most important barlines
When studying the setting, you will be able to understand the most fundamental character of a piece just by looking at the start, the setting tells you a lot about how a piece is going to sound.
Generic intervals and scales
We are now taking our knowledge of musical notes and pitch to another, level, we are studying their relationships, and the first skill you need is to measure distances, or what we call "Intervals"
Semitones, the smallest interval in western music
The first interval you need to understand is the smallest one, the semitone, from here, everything else sprouts.
