IT Fundamentals for Business Professionals: Enterprise Systems
This course is one of the 5 courses of an introductory business information systems series, designed to introduce you to the amazing world of Information Technology.
The series of courses is designed so that a professional in a field outside the information technologies (financial, administrative or managerial) acquires the basic knowledge in Information Technology to be able to interact more profitably with the computer and telecommunications specialists of your company or other corporations with which you are related, being able to specify requirements, evaluate workloads and monitor results in a much more effective way.
The syllabus of the series is based on the CLEP Information Systems and Computer Applications exam.
In this course, you will learn the basic concepts of information systems and their application.
By completing the series of 5 courses, you will be prepared to interact effectively with specialists in the Information Technology sector (and pass the CLEP ISCA exam if you wish
- In this course you'll learn: Fundamentals of office packages (word processor, spreadsheet, presentations and database manager)
- The basic technical aspects of e-mail and conference systems.
- Operating System fundamentals
- Operation of web browsers and Internet technologies
- Basic description of various business applications (Business Intelligence, ERP, CRM, GIS, SCM, DMS, EDI ....)





Dra. Tanja Vos is an associate professor at the Computation and Information Systems Department (DSIC) of the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain), and carries out her research at the Center for Software Production Methods (ProS) where she leads the Software Testing & Quality (STaQ) group. She has been teaching for more than 20 years and has been involved in many research projects on software testing in an industrial setting. She has successfully coordinated various EU-funded project related to software development. She is also involved in various Erasmus and Leonardo initiatives that try to help business understand academia an vice versa.
La dra. Tanja Vos es profesora contratada doctor en el Departamento de Sistemas Informáticos y Computación de la Universitat Politècnica de València (España) y desarrolla su investigación en el Centro de Investigación en Métodos de Producción de Software (ProS) donde dirige el grupo de Calidad y Pruebas de Software (STaQ). Lleva enseñando más de 20 años y ha participado en muchos proyectos de investigación de prueba de software en entornos industriales. Ha coordinado con éxito varios proyectos financiados por la Unión Europea relacionados con el desarrollo de software. También ha participado en varias iniciativas Erasmus y Leonardo centradas en mejorar las relaciones y el entendimiento entre la Universidad y las empresas.
